ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A new chief of police will be sworn in to office in Rocky Mount this week.
Capt. John Manley's appointment becomes effective on Thursday following a ceremony in council chambers.
Manley has been with the Rocky Mount Police Department since 1984.
He replaces Bill Hogan, who resigned in June to become Asheville's police chief.
