RALEIGH, N.C. — Department of Transportation engineers say all ramps in the Durham County construction zone will be open before Christmas.
Crews are adding an extra lane to each side of Interstate 40. Currently, the eastbound I-40 ramps at Highway 55 and the Durham Freeway are closed.
After the ramps are open, there is still several months of work ahead.
Installation of rumble strips, lane striping, and finishing work will last until summer.
