Some N.C. Schools Will Not Get Teacher Bonus Money

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The State Board of Education decided Wednesday to not throw out a set of questionable statewide test scores, meaning 253 schools will not get additional teacher bonus money.

Sixth-grade reading scores came under fire earlier in the year after the state's ABC program showed only two schools met expected growth in that area.

Some critics argued the measurement system is flawed. The State Board will review the formula next year.
