Police say a robbery caught on tape could be the key to getting a dangerous man off the streets.

Melissa Young was working the third shift at Spinx Oil, a convenience store on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, when a man came in and assaulted her.

"He told me give me all your money. At first I didn't think it was real," she said.

On the tape, the man can be heard cursing and demanding money. He threatens to hit Young, then he follows through. Young suffered a sprained jaw.

Seconds later on the tape, Young can be seen calling police while the man robs her.

"I think she handled it very well," said Lt. C.M. Mise of the Raleigh Police Department.

Detectives said the same man attempted to rob two other stores and that he may be involved in a total of six robberies in the last week.

"He is going to get that money whatever it takes," Mise said.

Police say the man is driving a dark green Chevrolet Cavalier.

They are offering a reward for information leading to the man's arrest.
