FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A possible incident during a Cumberland County high school football practice could land a player in trouble with the law.
A player said Doug Huddleston, the starting quarterback at E.E. Smith High School, tackled him from behind when he was not supposed to.
The player's mother filed a misdemeanor assault complaint against Huddleston. Now, a magistrate must decide whether the case should move forward.
