DURHAM, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol is investigating a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 85 in Durham County Wednesday night.
Traffic came to a stop because of road construction. Officials said one car slammed into three others. Seconds later, another car hit the first group.
Three people were injured, two of them seriously.
Troopers are looking into whether alcohol played a part in the crash.
