Thieves Target Durham Jaycees' Haunted House

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Thieves tried to damper the spirit of Halloween at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Thieves swiped more than $1,000 worth of stereo equipment from the Durham Jaycees' haunted house. The speakers were used to play spooky music.

Authorities believe the speakers were taken sometime between midnight, Oct. 24 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27.

However, a local Halloween company and the Durham Bulls both contributed speakers, so the fun can go on as scheduled. The Durham Bulls are owned by Capitol Broadcasting Company, the parent company of WRAL.
