Drivers Killed In Harnett Head-On Collision

LILLINGTON, N.C. — Two people are dead following a head-on collision near Lillington Sunday morning.

Investigators said Seferino Garcia, 20, of Fuquay-Varina, was driving south towards Lillington on Highway 401 when he crossed the center line and struck a car traveling north head on.

Upon impact, Garcia's car was engulfed in flames with him inside. The driver of the second car was identified as Michael Denning, 40, of Lillington.

Officials said Garcia was driving 75 mph in a 45 mph zone. It has not been determined why he lost control and crossed the center line.
