Suspect Arrested in Raleigh Shooting

Police are investigating a shooting outside a Raleigh convenience store Friday evening.

Raleigh police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting of a man outside a Raleigh convenience store early Friday evening.

Marcus Jermaine Williams, 31, was found behind the store on the 2100 block of Poole Road about 5 p.m., police said.

Williams had been shot and was reported to be in critical condition at WakeMed on Saturday following surgery.

Early Saturday afternoon, police took 21-year-old Kevin Devon Lott into custody and charged him with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, investigators said after Lott's arrest.
