  • Just In: A 15-year-old boy charged in the Jan. 5 shooting deaths of a couple in their Wake County home can be tried as an adult, a District Court judge ruled Tuesday. Search warrants in the case indicate the couple, Jose and Maria Mendoza, were unintended targets in a gang war between two rival gangs. The boy is one of two people charged in the case.

Moore Residents Get Help To Rebuild After Tornado

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — Some Moore County homeowners are getting unexpected help to rebuild from a tornado.

Habitat for Humanity and the Moore Housing Partnership are fixing homes damaged during the storm a few weeks ago.

More than 100 volunteers offered to help. Officials said there were so many volunteers that some had to be turned away.

Volunteers hope to tackle seven homes by the end of the month.
