Bowles Campaign Asks Broadcasters To Remove Controversial Ad

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A television ad is sparking controversy in the U.S. Senate race.

On Wednesday, WRAL reported about an ad that involves Erskine Bowles and allegations about his record on immigration. The ad is sponsored by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, not Bowles' Republican challenger Richard Burr.

Representatives from the Bowles campaign issued a statement Thursday, saying the claims are false and misleading. They are asking broadcasters across the state to pull the ad.
