Training Exercises Give Bragg Soldiers Sampling Of Life Overseas

Military officials claim the enemy is not always obvious. These days, insurgents are hard to spot, so soldiers at Fort Bragg practice live-fire exercises, where they distinguish between enemies and innocent bystanders.

"It's a clearly different kind of a conflict right now. It's still very much a conflict, but it's taken on a new character and nature," Col. Richard Hooker said.

Soldiers are trained to avoid targets like mosques and schools. Currently, 8,000 Bragg troops have deployment orders for Iraq.
