Proposed Ordinance Gets 'Trashed' In Halifax County

HALIFAX COUNTY, N.C. — A proposed junkyard ordinance for Halifax County was returned to the drawing board Monday.

The county commissioners delayed a vote on requiring some junkyards to put up a fence or plant vegetation. It is the second time the proposed ordinance has been postponed.

Commissioners say the ordinance was so confusing they could not understand it.

The measure will be tweaked before it is considered again.
