Police in Durham acting on a CrimeStoppers tip arrested a man wanted on 23 felony charges involving sexual offenses Wednesday night.

The man, Steven David Vaughan, 21, of Concord Street was arrested near Dakota Street around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Vaughan was arrested on seven counts of statutory rape, seven counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, two counts of crime against nature, one count of second-degree kidnapping and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Further charges are pending.

Vaughn is being held in the Durham County Jail under a $125,000 bond.

The charges involve a relationship with a 13-year-old girl that lasted several months. Investigators are still trying to identify a second male in this case who goes by the nickname "Kye."

Anyone with information about "Kye" is asked to call Durham CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200 or Detective K.L. Gregory at (919) 560-4440, ext. 243.

CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers do not have to give their names.
