Supplier In Wake Schools Transportation Dept. Controversy Takes Action

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — More people are fired as a result of a state investigation that centers around the Wake Schools Transportation Department. This time, two employees from a Wilson-based supplier were let go.

The president of Barnes Motor and Parts told WRAL the employees are two managers, Bobby Browder and Connie Capps.

Three Wake County Schools transportation employees lost their jobs in August.

Financial records obtained by WRAL show a substantial amount of money was paid out to Barnes Motor and Parts from the school transportation department.

The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the business relationship.
