Raleigh, N.C. — A much-awaited road construction project is a step closer to completion.
Officials with the State Department of Transportation said the next section of Interstate 540 from Capital Boulevard at Triangle Towne Center to the Highway 64 Bypass in Knightdale will open Tuesday, Jan. 16.
Officials said timing signal lights on the ramps will be the last order of business.
Invitations to a official ribbon-cutting ceremony went out Monday.
