RALEIGH, N.C. — Another player in the Meg Scott Phipps campaign finance scandal has been sentenced.
Carnival operator Jimmy Drew received 18 months probation and a $25,000 fine.
Drew pleaded guilty last year to a state misdemeanor charge after he lied about giving $25,000 in illegal cash to the former Agriculture commissioner.
Phipps is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.
