DURHAM, N.C. — A husband accused of killing his wife and dumping her body in Falls Lake has been indicted as a habitual felon.
Robert Petrick is charged with murder in the death of his wife, Durham cellist Janine Sutphen.
The new habitual-felon indictments contend that Petrick was convicted of financial fraud and obstructing U.S. mail in his home state of Illinois.
The habitual-felon indictments mean Petrick could receive an increased sentence for any future convictions he might acquire in North Carolina.
