Chatham Water Main Repaired; Boil-Water Order Remains

Posted Updated

PITTSBORO, N.C. — Crews have repaired a water main break at the corner of Jack Bennett and Lystra Roads in Chatham County.

The 16-inch water main broke Tuesday at about 2:30 p.m.

North Chatham residents served by Chatham County water are still under a boil-water advisory until samples sent to the state show no problems with the water. Sample results are due back from the state on Thursday morning.

A boil-water advisory means that residents should boil all water used for human consumption prior to use.

All residents served by the Chatham County water system are asked to conserve water to allow pressure to build in the county's tanks and lines.
