Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A grand jury indicted Melvin Bynum Tuesday on first-degree murder charges.

The Lee County pastor is accused of killing his wife, Marnita. Investigators say he strangled her, stuffed her body in the trunk of her car and dumped it in Richmond County.

Prosecutors still must decide whether or not to seek the death penalty.
