DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators have identified a woman found stabbed to death Sunday morning at an apartment complex as Chanda Brown Mwicigi, 26, of Durham.

Officers were called to Palm Park Apartments at 2112 Broad Street around 6:45 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a person lying outside an apartment building. When officers arrived, they found Mwicigi's body lying on a sidewalk. Mwicigi had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mwicigi did not live in the apartment complex, but she often visited the area, according to investigators.

No motive has been determined and no charges have been filed.
