SELMA, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal wreck near Selma Thursday night.
Troopers say Lance Narren, a senior at Smithfield-Selma High School, ran off Lizzie Mill Road and hit a ditch at about 9 p.m.
Ashley Nicole Langley, a front-seat passenger, was ejected and killed. She was a senior at North Johnston High School.
Another passenger, Shaquila Benton, of Micro, was airlifted to Duke Medical Center where she is listed in good condition. Benton is a freshman at North Johnston.
Narren was treated at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield and released.
