RALEIGH, N.C. — These days, when Shirley Caesar steps into the pulpit, it is not to sing a gospel tune.
The 11-time Grammy winner is pitching her plan to transform a weedy 45 acres in Wake County into a development called Calvary City.
The plan would include elderly housing, a medical clinic, a school and a grocery.
Caesar is in the middle of raising funds for the development.
