RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing the mother of three young children.

Ronald Kappes, 23, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Aracely Aguilar in March 2003.

Aguilar, 23, of Raleigh, was beaten and strangled to death and then set on fire in rural Warren County where her remains were found.

Kappes' alleged accomplice, Lynn Wick, also faces first-degree murder charges.

Authorities say Kappes had been dating both women.
