Robeson Farmer Will Not Be Charged With Killing Dogs

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A poultry farmer will not face charges for killing two of her neighbor's pit bulls.

Mary Jones said the dogs killed more than 175 chickens on her Robeson County farm.

When the dogs broke into another pen, she shot one in the head and beat the other with a metal pipe.

Animal cruelty officers said Jones was within her rights because the dogs were attacking her livestock.
