WILSON COUNTY, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol is investigating a wreck that killed a teenager ands her mother in Wilson County early Monday morning.
The single-vehicle wreck happened at 5:25 a.m. on Shiloh Church Road near Lamm Road, not far from Highway 264.
The driver, Stacey Beamon, 18, and her mother, Lessie Williams, 45, of Bailey, were killed.
Investigators say the car was headed east on Shiloh Church Road when the car ran off the road, overcorrected and hit a tree. Excessive speed was ruled as the cause.
