HENDERSON, N.C. — A Franklin County man drowned Sunday.
It happened in a remote area of Vance County outside Henderson.
The Sheriff's Office said 18-year-old Richard Roach was riding an ATV with some friends when they decided to go swimming in Sandy Creek.
Roach apparently got a cramp, disappeared under the water and never came up. His body was recovered a short time later.
