Two Cumberland Men Jailed In Tax Scheme

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two Cumberland County men are going to prison for a tax scheme.

A jury found Frederic McMillian, 35, of Fayetteville, guilty of preparing phony state income tax returns in March. A judge sentenced him to as many as 36 months behind bars.

In a related case, Virgil Ray, 36, of Eastover, pleaded guilty to filing a phony tax return. He also received prison time.
