RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities say an inmate who died at Central Prison last week was strangled.
Prison officials found 74-year-old James Upright dead last week in the prison's infirmary.
The State Bureau of Investigation is expected to charge another inmate with his murder in the coming days.
Upright was serving an 18-year sentence for two sex offenses.
