Duke Police Start Off-Campus Patrols

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University police are starting off-campus patrols on Wednesday.

The patrols are designed to mainly take care of disruptive student parties in neighborhoods surrounding the campus.

A year ago, state lawmakers gave the school's police force permission to patrol off campus and to make arrests.

Police will patrol the neighborhoods that surround East Campus, such as the Trinity Heights, Trinity Park and Walltown areas.
