DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham woman in danger of losing her home filed for bankruptcy at the last minute.
Marlynda Bodison's house was scheduled to go up on the auction block Tuesday, but she filed for bankruptcy Monday. As a result, the city could not auction off her Canal Street home.
Bodison is years behind on her loan payments to the city and property taxes. Despite her appeals, the city successfully finalized the foreclosure in July.
