RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation temporarily will close the three inner lanes of westbound Interstate 40 in Wake County between Wade Avenue and Harrison Avenue, beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
The lanes will be reopened by 4 p.m. Two lanes of travel will remain open.
The closing is necessary to repair a pipe underneath I-40.
