One Injured In Johnston County Golf Cart Accident

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — Authorities say one person was injured after a vehicle hit a golf cart in Johnston County.
The state Highway Patrol said Ella Jones, 53, of Benson, was traveling northbound in her car on Highway 96 around 9:40 a.m. Monday when 64-year-old Jerry Rhodes, of Four Oaks, pulled out in front of her on a golf cart.
Rhodes was ejected from the golf cart with serious injuries. Rhodes was later Lifeflighted to Duke Medical Center. He is listed in critical condition. Jones had minor injuries in the accident.
The Highway Patrol plan to charge Rhodes with failing to yield right-of-way.
