RALEIGH, N.C. — While most passenger trains serving North Carolina resumed regular schedules Monday,, four of the long-distance trains operating between New York and Florida will cut their route short while Florida continues to recover from Hurricane Charley.
The Palmetto (trains 89, 90) will operate between New York City and Jacksonville, Florida, while the Silver Meteor (trains 97, 98) will operate between New York City and Sanford, Florida. Both trains normally operate through to Miami.
The Silver Star (trains 91, 92) will run its entire normal route between New York and Miami.
The Raleigh to Charlotte Piedmont (trains 73, 74), as well as, the Charlotte to New York Carolinian (trains 79, 80) and New York to New Orleans Crescent (trains 19, 20) also will operate along their normal routes.
