Attorney Wants To Be Removed From Lois Cannady Case

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — The attorney of a young man accused of killing an 86-year-old woman wants off the case.

Mark Edwards plans to meet with the judge next week to discuss the details. He is asking to be removed from the Lois Cannady case, saying his attorney-client relationship with Jerome Freeman has disintegrated.

Freeman is one of five people accused of killing Cannady in her Durham home in 2002.
