Former Durham Cop To Go To Jail For Beating Suspect

DURHAM, N.C. — A former police officer will go to jail for beating a handcuffed man.

Michael Aultman was a three-year veteran of the Durham Police Department. He pleaded guilty to charges he severely beat a man who he thought stole something.

Aultman got a six-month jail sentence plus probation.

The judge also ordered him to pay the victim's medical bill and take an anger management course.
