RALEIGH, N.C. — Architects envision Raleigh's new convention center as open and inviting.
Officials made a presentation Tuesday to city and county leaders. They said it should blend in with downtown and not overpower the State Capitol and Memorial Auditorium.
One idea offers a beacon or tower at the corner of Salisbury and Lenoir Streets to serve as a guidepost.
Elected officials will be asked to approve a final design in October.
