Fayetteville, N.C. — A man and his girlfriend were found dead in their camper-trailer in southwest Fayetteville on Friday morning, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, which said the deaths are being investigated as a homicide.
Donald Curtis Jackson Jr., 46, and Tammy Michelle Jones, 42, were found in the makeshift home at 3717 Francis Drive after a visitor knocked on their door to inquire about construction work. When no one answered, the man opened the door and saw the couple dead, deputies said.
The sheriff's office initially said there were no signs of foul play but later said it appeared to be a homicide. It's unclear how Jackson and Jones died. Their bodies were taken to a medical examiner's office for autopsies.
No other information was released.
