A man and his girlfriend were found dead in their camper-trailer in southwest Fayetteville on Friday morning, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, which said the deaths are being investigated as a homicide.

Donald Curtis Jackson Jr., 46, and Tammy Michelle Jones, 42, were found in the makeshift home at 3717 Francis Drive after a visitor knocked on their door to inquire about construction work. When no one answered, the man opened the door and saw the couple dead, deputies said.

The sheriff's office initially said there were no signs of foul play but later said it appeared to be a homicide. It's unclear how Jackson and Jones died. Their bodies were taken to a medical examiner's office for autopsies.

No other information was released.

===========================

The part of obtaining more details before reporting a story.

storchheim, yea i can see that now, but when the story first came out this morning, i believe they called the "visitor" his boss. that was right when the story first came out. but i agree, at least they were found.

NCgirl, it seemed to me like the man stopped by because he'd been called out to do some work for them, not that he was the boss. But yes, VERY good thing he found the bodies in this heat.

Most likely drugs or alcohol related...sign of the times.

"If I didn't show up for work someone from my company, maybe the boss, would come to check on me AND come inside if needed." Scubagirl

If I didn't show up to work, I'm pretty sure my boss and a few of my co-workers would break my door down... somebody in my past doesn't know how to leave well enough alone :/
