HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The town of Hillsborough is in a legal tug-of-war with the owner of the historic Colonial Inn.
Francis Henry filed a countersuit against the town. In it, he claims the town has violated his rights and is discriminating against him.
Henry bought the town landmark two years ago and promised to restore it. So far, town leaders say he has done little if any work.
Town officials are fining Henry $100 a day until he makes the necessary repairs. So far, he owes more than $13,000.
