print friendly

A caterer whose baked bean recipe made dozens sick was in court Monday morning.

Carl Privette was in court on misdemeanor charges of a public health violation.

Privette catered a picnic for Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Durham last month. More than 50 people got salmonella food poisoning after eating his baked beans.

Privette's attorney asked the case be continued until October.
