A man found floating in a Moore County rock quarry Tuesday was shot to death, authorities said Thursday.

Gregory Lance Bullock, 34, was reported missing on June 18, the same day authorities found his black Honda Accord at a recreation area on N.C. Highway 42 at Deep River in Lee County.

The Moore County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who might have seen the car in the area between June 13 and June 18 to contact them at 910-947-2931.

June 13 is the day Bullock was last seen at Reservoir Park in Southern Pines, authorities said.

Deputies found Bullock's body around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the quarry on Glendon Carthage Road, about 6 miles west of Sanford.

Investigators have not said how long they think Bullock might have been in the quarry.

I had posted already that WRAL had their facts wrong about how far the quarry is from Sanford. It is actually about 25 miles but I guess they will not post anything saying they are wrong.

Drug deal gone bad.

So sad, condolences to all who cared about his man. Hope they catch the killer(s)

prayers for his family
