Teen Faces Charges In Fatal Selma Shooting

Posted Updated

SELMA, N.C. — What started as a fatal traffic accident is now a murder investigation.

Selma police responded to a wreck at Smithfield and Sumner Roads just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

When police arrived, they found the driver, Tajuan Gray, 23, of Selma, had been shot several times.

Gray reportedly fled the scene at a high rate of speed, but crashed his car about three blocks away.

Police say a 15-year-old confessed to shooting Gray after an argument. The teen, who is already on probation, according to police, is being held in a juvenile detention center and faces first-degree murder charges.
