DURHAM, N.C. — A multi-vehicle accident on westbound Interstate 40 at Page Road, just as vehicles were entering the constructiom zone, brought traffic to a standstill shortly after noon Saturday.

There were no serious injuries reported. But traffic once again became a mess in that area of the interstate.

The I-40 widening project has caused lane changes and exit and entrance ramps to be closed in the vicinity of the Durham Freeway and Fayetteville Road in Durham.

Traffic is expected to be slow and heavy through that area even in the best of circumstances this weekend.
