MICRO, N.C. — Investigators say a blown front tire was the main cause of a bus crash in Johnston County last week.
The Venture Tours Inc. bus was traveling from Myrtle Beach, S.C. to New York when it blew a tire and went off an embankment along Interstate 95 near Micro Thursday afternoon.
The bus was carrying teenage members of the Caravan Kids dance program. About 20 passengers were treated for minor injuries at local hospitals.
Bus driver Willie Owens was treated at Pitt Memorial Hospital and released the next day.
No charges were filed against Owens.
