DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police investigators are trying to locate a man in a 2002 murder case. On Thursday, investigators charged Rahteek Victoria, 34, of Garner with murder in the shooting death of Carl Lanier Greenlaw. Victoria is not in custody at this time.
Greenlaw, 31, was found on Oct. 4, 2002, after officers were dispatched to a traffic accident on Nichols Farm Drive. When they arrived, they discovered a 2000 white Jaguar down an embankment more than 100 feet from the road.
When paramedics removed Greenlaw from the car, they discovered he had been shot in the head. Greenlaw was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to Duke University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
