SBI Arrests Three Men In Lumberton Shooting Death

LUMBERTON, N.C. — The State Bureau of Investigation have made three arrests in connection with the shooting death of a Lumberton store clerk.

Robert Edward Woodell was shot to death on July 17 at Ali's Food Mart in Lumberton. Three suspects have been charged with the crime.

Monshea Gemeal Carmichael was arrested early Thursday morning in South Carolina by Dillon County sheriff's deputies and Lakeview police officers. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Harven Benjamin McPhaul was arrested Wednesday by SBI agents, Lumberton police officers and Robeson County sheriff's deputies at Fairmont. McPhaul was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Milton Bernard Taylor was arrested late Wednesday night by SBI agents, Lumberton police officers and Robeson County sheriff's deputies in Fairmont. Taylor was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

All three defendants will have their first appearance hearing Thursday morning in Robeson County District Court.
