DURHAM, N.C. — A truck driver has been charged in a deadly crash along Interstate 40 in Durham two weeks ago.
Durham police charged 39-year-old Ken Pittman, of Garner, with misdemeanor death by vehicle in the July 9 wreck.
Pittman's eastbound tractor-trailer slammed into a two cars between the N.C. Highway 751 and Fayetteville Road exits.
The driver of one of the cars, Kevin Meyer, was killed. Meyer's 4-year-old daughter and Pittman were also injured.
The wreck shut down the interstate for nine hours.
