DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham teen was killed Sunday in a two-car collision on Cole Mill Road near Medford Road shortly before 7 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Michael Antoan Aaron, 18, was driving a Honda Accord south on Cole Mill Road at an excessive speed when he lost control of the vehicle. The Honda Accord slid sideways across the center line into the path of a northbound Ford Taurus driven by Kelly Lawton, 37, of Durham.
The front of the Ford Taurus collided with the passenger side of the Honda Accord.
Aaron was pronounced dead at the scene. Lawton was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
No charges have been filed, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Both vehicles were total losses.
