Parents Behind Bars After Baby Swallows Cocaine

Posted July 15, 2004

— Both parents of a 15-month-old girl who swallowed crack cocaine are behind bars.

Cumberland County investigators arrested the child's father, Johnny McGill. Her mother, Landonia Scott, turned herself in last week.

Officers say the toddler was having seizures and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors found cocaine in her system.

Deputies are not sure how she got a hold of the drugs, but officials say she is recovering.
