ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — An Edegecombe County man will serve jail time for running over a police officer.
Wednesday, a jury found Aaron Sutton guilty of hit-and-run and assault with a deadly weapon. They jury found him not guilty of attempted murder.
Police said Sutton ran over Cpl. Sandy Rose last year after a fender bender. The officer was not seriously injured.
